Doing Our Bit for Breast Cancer Awareness

Department of Radiodiagnosis, Dr D.Y.Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune in association with ‘Breast Imaging Society of India’ had organized a dedicated conference on the ‘Breast Imaging ‘Basic to Advanced’ on 28TH July 2018. Dr D.Y.Patil Medical College, Hospital have all the modern and state of art facility with quality teaching, training and research activities. Dr S.G.Gandage, Professor and organizing chairman, Dr Pratiksha Yadav, Professor and organizing secretary of the Conference have informed that the department has been engaged in social awareness for the screening of breast carcinoma.

It was organized to improve the diagnostic imaging so more and more Radiologists can get training to do quality reporting of mammography, Ultrasound breast and Breast MRI. All the eminent speakers at the conference are the senior faculty member of the ‘Breast Imaging Society of India’ which is working to improve the diagnostic and interventional facilities in breast diseases.

D.Y.Patil Medical College has all the modern and state of art equipment with qualified experts in breast imaging. It has a Digital Mammography machine with tomosynthesis, Ultrasound Breast, Breast MRI and an interventional facility to do guided biopsies. The mammography facility in this hospital is also free of cost.

The goal of breast cancer awareness is to save lives through early detection. Advancements in diagnostic methods, treatment and surgery improve the early detection and survival rates.
